Big Bear Lake
And cactus.
Wasn't a very happening party spot but the people were nice. In fact, we were trying to hitch a ride to the trail head at 7:30 am when the owner of a computer repair company who was standing out in front of his business smoking a cigarette asked us where we were going.
Needless to say he closed shop and drove us five miles out to the trail head. That's some good trail magic there and he was a good dude for sure!

Big Bear Lake, CA
It's Day 16 on the trail. Hiked 25 miles yesterday and ten this morning down to HWY 18 where trail angel Papa Smurf gave us a ride into Big Bear Lake.
Splitting a room at Motel 6 with Jeff, trail name Walking Home because he lives by north end of the PCT.
Do laundry, resupply, copy video to memory stick, recharge battery and slam some beers.
Video battery has lasted 16 days. Going to recharge and switch to backup battery.
So in 16 days on the trail I have been rained on, snowed on, roasted and frozen! If I wasn't rugged after the Appalachian Trail I sure will be after the PCT. Love it!
