Theses aren't the most exciting pictures but it is where I stopped South Bound on November 8th, 2010. I just walked North Bound to it from Springer, GA. Route 60 in Virginia.
Will elaborate more in a few days but right now I am beat.

Well it turned into a furnace in the afternoon. I thought I was about to drop dead when the good Lord put this cool mountain stream in our path.
That fellow in the picture is Shenanigans. I hiked with him quite a bit early on. You can see him in some of the earlier group party pictures. Had lost track of him when he went back for trail days. He caught up with me last night. It was good to have a friendly face around for my last day on the trail. Best of luck Shenanigans!
Feet are beat to hell. Sitting on a rock in the creek giving them a good soak. Little fish are taking a nibble. Exactly 20 miles till I am finished.
Haze is intense. Sign says the view depends on the daily pollution level although there is always a bluish haze that puts the blue in Blue Ridge Mountains.
Weather is being flakey. Plan on going 2 more miles and camping for the night. Short hike into town tomorrow and a zero on Thursday.
Icing the top of this bad boy. Hurt this foot on the way to 606 and the Hiking Gods have been trying to kill me ever since. About 103 miles left and the bastards are cutting me no slack!
Mind you, they are trying to make it look like an accident.
Well the lads drank beer all day and now they are off hiking. I on the other hand am being overrun by chickens!
There's a whole bunch but the guys keep trying to grab them and then they run all over the place. A lot of fun on a zero day.
Well Wallace got in trouble because he took the Hostel truck into town without permission.
The rest of us have our beer and the more intellectually inclined are taking their chances at Chess!
Oh, there is a major storm passing through. I was trying to capture the lightening storm but the phone could not do it.
Came by to pay my respect. Audie Murphy died near this site in a 1971 plane crash. The monument is about 50 yards from the AT. Will post a few more pictures.
